Wow. What a couple of days it’s been. Child Out Of Time, my third book and first on my beloved Doctor Who, was released on Monday (16th) and it’s only gone and debuted in the top spot on the Amazon chart!
The kindle version of my memoir on the wilderness years of the Time Lord went straight to the top in the Television and Radio category of children’s book, beating a novel by kids TV legend Floella Benjamin and books on Harry Potter, Pokemon and Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
The paperback version has also taken off, entering the charts in fifth place!
I cannot thank everyone enough for buying, talking about, tweeting and generally saying such nice things about the book. There’s another surprise in store tomorrow too!
Today’s the day!
After years in the making, Child Out Of Time: Growing Up With Doctor Who In The Wilderness Years is finally out today!
Please find the Amazon link to purchase in paperback and Kindle here. It’s sale in bookshops in the UK will take another few weeks but keep an eye out here and on my Facebook page for more updates and surprises!
Don’t forget to leave a review!
Way back in February 2016 I was interviewed on one of the very first editions of Australian podcast, The Doctor Who Show. It was a fun chat with Rob Irwin talking about how I became a fan of Doctor Who during the Wilderness Years and Rob has kindly republished the interview in the latest episode!
You can find it here and on iTunes. Thanks Rob!
I was kindly invited by Phil Cannon from the Who’s He? Podcast to come on and promote my new book! You can listen to and download the interview here or at iTunes. I pop up around the 12 minute mark.
Many thanks to Phil for having me! Remember to come back here on the 16th October to order your copy of Child Out Of Time!
Those fine fellas over at Radio Free Skaro, the longest-running Doctor Who podcast in the universe, covered Child Out of Time on their latest episode!
You can find the segment at 33 minutes 10 seconds and listen to the episode here.
My thanks to Steven, Warren and Chris! Cheer guys!
I’m happy to announce that my Doctor Who short trip, Aftermath, has been published in the latest issue of Cosmic Masque! You can download it for free here: http://www.dwasonline.co.uk/node/1307

CHILD OUT OF TIME: GROWING UP WITH DOCTOR WHO IN THE WILDERNESS YEARS OUT ON 16TH OCTOBER!
For 26 years, DOCTOR WHO was a British institution, capturing the imaginations of generations of children.
But then, in 1989, it was cancelled. The Doctor and his on-screen adventures were no more.
There was no longer a hero, a champion for the outcasts who struggled to fit in. It was as though he had walked into his TARDIS and set his controls for dematerialisation, never to return: a whole generation lost to the powers of Science Fiction’s greatest creation.
It was in this Doctor-less world that I grew up.
This is the story of how one little boy would try to find the Doctor in any way, shape or form and the obstacles he faced in doing so.
This is the story of growing up without Doctor Who in the Wilderness Years…and how I lived through it.
Featuring cover art by Doctor Who author Paul Magrs and a foreword by Doctor Who author Andrew Smith, this is one all Who fans will not want to miss!
Available from Amazon and all good bookstores in paperback and ebook. £5.99.
